August Update

Hello again to all of our members, friends and supporters of design in Idaho. Midway through August, and with summer starting to wind down, we are starting to see our fall programming come to shape. To kick things off, we have an exciting event coming up in a couple of weeks at World Cycle, where AIGA Idaho member Glenn Rummler will talk a bit about his retail design process. There will be some time for Q and A, so bring your questions and hopefully we can get an informative dialogue going. The event is happening on August 25 and we will get things kicked off around 7pm. It will also be another opportunity to meet your AIGA Idaho board members, and let us know what you would like to see happen over the next year. Hope to see you there.

Keep an eye on our events calendar, as it will start to fill out over the next few weeks. If you have any ideas for events, or initiatives you would like to see/make happen, get ahold of our Programming Director Nicolet Laursen at programming@aigaidaho.org.

On a side note, congratulations to the students of AIGA Boise State on their awesome Freak Alley mural. Be sure to swing by and check it out, along with all of the other great art in Freak Alley.

Speaking of AIGA Boise State, it’s time once again for Mixed Mentor. We are currently looking for individuals in the professional design community to participate in this program. Mixed Mentor has been going on for several semesters now, and is seen by students as an incredibly valuable program. If you haven’t participated in the past, it is a relatively small time commitment (meeting up for coffee once a month or so, and just being available to answer questions or give advice). Contact us if you are interested in participating.

So with that, enjoy the rest of summer and we hope to see you at the next event.
