As unique wordmarks and proprietary fonts become increasingly important in shaping brand message, understanding typography and lettering in the fields of visual communication is not only relevant; it is essential. Ken Barber, type director of design firm and independent font foundry House Industries, will conduct a day-long design symposium focusing on the exploration of the letter as a medium for both form and content. By means of informative presentations, instructional demonstrations, and enlightening discussions, Ken will lead attendees in a pair of hands-on letter-making workshops geared at broadening participants' understanding, appreciation and execution of lettering and typography.
